1. Summary
We collect the minimum needed to run NetLab: an account identity, your study progress, and the messages you send us. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
2. What we collect
Account data: your email address, an optional display name, and — if you sign in with Google — the basic profile information Google returns.
Study data: labs you generate and attempt, scores, requirement results, practice and exam sessions, XP, streaks and per-topic mastery.
Support data: the name, email, category and message you submit through the support form, and the description plus lab context attached to an in-lab problem report.
Billing data: subscription status, plan, period dates and the identifiers our payment processor gives us. Card numbers are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our systems.
Technical data: basic request and error logs needed to keep the Service secure and working.
3. Why we use it
To provide the Service — generate labs, grade attempts, and save your progress across devices.
To manage access — distinguish free and Premium accounts and enforce daily free lab allowances.
To support you — answer messages and reproduce reported problems.
To keep the Service secure and improve it — diagnose faults, fix content errors and understand which features are used.
4. Processors we rely on
Our hosting and database provider stores your account, study and support data. Stripe processes subscription payments and holds the billing information required for that. Google is involved only if you choose Google sign-in. Each acts under contract and only for the purposes above.
5. Security
Data is stored with row-level access rules so your records are readable only by you and, where necessary for support, by an administrator. Privileged operations run on the server, never in your browser. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and checked against known-breached password lists at sign-up.
6. Retention
Account and study data is kept while your account exists. Support messages and problem reports are kept while useful for support and quality, then deleted. Billing records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
7. Your rights
You can access and correct your profile from the account page, and request a copy or deletion of your data at any time through support. Where local law gives you additional rights — objection, restriction, portability, or complaint to a supervisory authority — you keep them.
Deleting your account removes your profile, progress and attempt history. Anonymised aggregate statistics and records we must retain for legal reasons may remain.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use only what is required to run the Service: a session token so you stay signed in, and local preferences such as whether you have seen the lab tour. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
9. Children
NetLab is intended for people old enough to hold an account under their local law. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age; contact us if you believe we have.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it, and material changes are announced in the app.
11. Contact
To exercise any of these rights or ask a privacy question, email netlabtrainer@outlook.com.
